How Two Tech Companies: Palantir and Capgemini Built America’s Deportation Artiicial Intelligence Machine for $365 Million For ICE
Summary
The 2 Companies
There are 2 American technology companies making money by helping the U.S. government find and deport immigrants.
The 1st is Palantir.
The 2nd is Capgemini.
Since January 2025, they made $88 million together.
What Do They Do?
Palantir built a computer system called ImmigrationOS. This system finds people for ICE. It looks at government records from hospitals, schools, banks, and more. It puts all this information into 1 place. Then it tells ICE agents where a person lives.
Imagine if someone looked at your doctor's records, your address, and where you work. Then they put all of that together and showed it to the police. This is what ImmigrationOS does.
Capgemini does something similar. They help find people's addresses using phone records and job history.
Capgemini got $4.8 million for this. But they can make $365 million more if they find more people.
How It Works in Real Life
Imagine you are a person named Maria. You live in the United States without permission. Here is what happens:
(1) ICE agents use an app called Mobile Fortify. They point a phone at you and take your photo.
The app checks your face against 200 million photos. In 1 second, it knows who you are.
(2) Palantir's system called ELITE makes a map.
The map shows neighborhoods where people like you might live. ELITE uses your hospital records and other government information.
(3) Capgemini uses your phone records to find your exact address.
(4) ICE shows up at your door.
The Problems
The problem is that these systems make mistakes. They identified an American woman as someone else. They arrested her by mistake.
Another problem: The Supreme Court of the United States allowed ICE to stop anyone who looks Latino. This is racial profiling. It is not fair.
Money Is The Problem
Capgemini makes bonus money for every person they help deport. This is bad. When you pay companies money for each person deported, they want to deport more people, even innocent people.
Should We Boycott?
Many people say yes. They say technology companies should not help deport people. Some workers quit Palantir. Some universities said their students should not work there. People protested outside Palantir's office.
Is This Like History?
Yes. A famous philosopher named Hannah Arendt studied the Holocaust. She wrote about "the banality of evil." This means bad things happen when ordinary people do their jobs without thinking.
Workers at Palantir feel ashamed. One worker said, "I feel no pride that my company works with ICE."
But they keep working there anyway. This is thoughtlessness.
The Constitution Says No
The U.S. Constitution says the government cannot search people without good reason. It says all people are equal. But in 2026, the government is doing exactly what the Constitution says it cannot do.
What Happens Now?
Americans have 3 choices:
Stop buying products from companies that work with ICE
Demand the government stop these programs
Accept this as normal
What America chooses will define its future.
